The accelerated infiltration of synovial space with macrophages, neutrophils, chondrocytes, and fibroblasts, which are the production house for pro-inflammatory mediators like tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), reactive oxygen species (ROS), prostaglandins, interleukins, proteases, and vasoactive amines, is responsible for RA [3,4,5]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
