Gu et al., through a mouse model of MASLD-related HCC, highlighted a potentially important role of losartan as an anti-neoplastic adjuvant treatment due to its capacity to enhance the invasion of tumor tissue by CD8 T cells, normally inhibited by peri-lesional fibrosis, and to inhibit the TGF-β signalling with subsequent deposition of collagen and reducing fibroblasts with immunosuppressive effect, thus potentiating the effect of immune checkpoint inhibitors used for HCC treatment [210]. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and hepatocellular carcinoma.
