HAVCR1 and chronic kidney disease: The activity of KIM-1 is associated with physiological processes and is closely linked to the adaptive responses of renal epithelium to ischemic or toxic lesions, as well as various pathophysiological conditions such as acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, acute and chronic graft rejection, nephrotoxicity, ischemia, dehydration, inflammation, malignant tumors, and the progression of fibrosis [13,17].
