The main findings of the present study were that (1) preoperative plasma levels of vWF, TGF-β, and IL-8 are significantly correlated with increased postoperative atrial ectopy, and (2) preoperative concentrations of hs-CRP, TGF-β, IL-6, and IL-8 are associated with a higher ventricular ectopy, reinforcing the potential for precision-targeted antiarrhythmic therapies, with a personalized approach focusing on specific cytokines. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and ventricular ectopy.
