While the majority of studies have focused on post-operative inflammatory responses and cardiac arrhythmias following CABG, this study introduces novel evidence that preoperative plasma levels of vWF, TGFβ, and IL-8 are significantly correlated with increased postoperative atrial ectopy, and that preoperative concentrations of hs-CRP, TGF-β, IL-6, and IL-8 are associated with a higher burden of ventricular ectopy. Here, CXCL8 is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
