HP and Insulin resistance: Patients with higher zonulin values had, on average, a higher BMI (30.4 ± 5.6 vs. 27.9 ± 4.8 kg/m2; p = 0.12) and a greater proportion of insulin resistance as defined by HOMA-IR ≥ 2.5 (57.1% vs. 34.2%; p = 0.18).
