In agreement with prior studies on CVVH in SAP [2,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22] and with the evidence supporting the adsorptive oXiris membrane in sepsis [7,8,9,10,11,12,23], our study demonstrates that early use of continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH) with the oXiris filter in patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) complicated by organ dysfunction and sepsis refractory to intensive care is associated with a high short-term survival rate (97.9%), a significant reduction in APACHE II score, and a marked decrease in serum pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is Sepsis.
