WFS1 and depressive disorder: Nevertheless, a consistent pattern of associations emerged linking WFS1 gene mutations to a broad spectrum of psychological and psychiatric manifestations—among them depression, anxiety, suicidal behavior, behavioral alterations (such as chronic fatigue syndrome, hypersomnolence, impulse control deficits, and aggression), and severe psychiatric conditions including psychosis and bipolar disorder [6,7,8,9,11,16,20,24] (Figure 1).
