Salicylic acid metabolites, including 2,3-DHBA and 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,5-DHBA), along with derivatives such as 2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,4-DHBA) and 2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,6-DHBA), have been reported to inhibit cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) enzyme activity against HCT-116 human colorectal carcinoma cells. This evidence concerns the gene CDK1 and colorectal carcinoma.
