Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified IPMK as a risk gene for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), prompting investigations into its function through the lens of inositol and PIP3-mediated signaling, which unfold across three key research layers: elucidating IPMK’s cellular roles and mechanisms, assessing its physiological significance in vivo, and connecting these findings to disease processes. Here, IPMK is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
