Experimentally induced cisplatin resistance in ovarian cancer cell lines was associated with elevation of a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), IGF2 mRNA and protein and the IGF2/mitogen-activated protein kinase/eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase signaling pathway, while interference with this axis promoted cisplatin sensitivity in parental cells [38]. The gene discussed is IGF2; the disease is ovarian cancer.
