Plasma GFAP levels in MCI-AD cohorts were 300 pg/mL, IQR 232–433 pg/mL, and p < 0.0001, and these levels increased to 360 pg/mL, IQR 253–414 pg/mL, and p < 0.01 in MCI-AD cohorts developing dementia during 3.9 ± 2.6 years follow-up period [168]. Here, GFAP is linked to Alzheimer disease.
