Concomitantly, malignant peritoneal fluid is characterized by low concentrations of adaptive immune markers, such as interferon-γ (IFNγ), interferon-α (IFNα), interleukin-1 (IL-2), and interleukin-10 (IL-10), suggesting that the immune landscape in PC favors innate immunity and suppresses tumor-specific immune responses. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and pachyonychia congenita.
