Gene expression in HCC involves TERT promoter mutations and Wnt/β-catenin mutations [94], and the disease can be classified into three subtypes: (i) mitogenic and stem cell-like tumours with chromosomal instability; (ii) CTNNB1-mutated tumours displaying immune suppression; and (iii) metabolic disease-associated tumours, which include an immunogenic subgroup characterized by macrophage infiltration and a favourable prognosis [95]. This evidence concerns the gene CTNNB1 and neoplasm.
