The misfolding and aggregation of alphasynuclein (αS) intotoxic oligomers, fibrils, and Lewy bodies is a defining pathogenichallmark of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and related synucleinopathies.Identifying molecules that selectively bind and neutralize αSassemblies has long been a key therapeutic goal.,, Lewy bodies accumulate in the cytoplasmof dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNCA), disrupting dopamine signaling, triggeringneuronal death, and ultimately leading to the symptoms of PD. Here, SNCA is linked to Parkinson disease.
