In some other solid cancers, the spatial properties of the immune system can be prognostic (and in some cases predictive of response to immune checkpoint inhibitors; ICIs)30–33, most notably in the presence of tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS)34 in melanoma and colorectal cancer (CRC)35, and tumor-CD8+ T cell proximity in non-small cell lung cancer36. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and colorectal carcinoma.
