Our screen also identified Pde10a as an interactor of ORF1p in the mouse brain, a PDE almost exclusively expressed in medium spiny neurons of the striatum and a target for treatment of neurological diseases related to basal ganglia function like Huntington’s disease, schizophrenia, and Tourette syndrome (Threlfell et al., 2009). The gene discussed is ALDH7A1; the disease is Tourette syndrome.
