Research has shown that in patients with CMVO following myocardial infarction, serum IL-6 levels are notably elevated, and early administration of tocilizumab (an IL-6 receptor antagonist) can reduce the area of myocardial infarction.[8] This medication is well-tolerated with no major safety concerns, however, the clinical significance of this study remains uncertain, necessitating further large-scale research to explore the impact of tocilizumab on clinical endpoint events. Here, IL6 is linked to myocardial infarction.
