Allergic asthma is more frequently associated with atopic dermatitis or eczema, conjunctivitis and possibly rhinitis (Romanet-Manent et al., 2002; Schatz and Rosenwasser, 2014; Akar-Ghibri et al., 2020), and it is associated with increased T2 inflammation and higher levels of cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-4, IL-5 and IL-13. The gene discussed is IL13; the disease is allergic asthma.
