IGHE and asthma: Preliminary results show some promise; a study of 33 patients that investigated the effects of a calorie restricted diet and anorectics, with a 6 months follow-up period, showed that these interventions had an effect on asthma control, but no effects on sensitivity to methacholine challenge, FeNO levels, sputum counts, total IgE, or leptin, TGF-beta or eotaxin levels (Dias-Junior et al., 2014).
