A biomarker study on 142 patients with mild-moderate and severe asthma, showed that elevated levels of alpha-1-antichymotrypsin, apolipoprotein-E, complement component 9, complement factor I, macrophage inflammatory protein-3, IL-6, sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 3, TNF receptor superfamily member 11a, TGF-β and glutathione S-transferase was associated to more severe asthma. Here, CCL23 is linked to asthma.
