Approximately 70% of TNDM cases are attributed to aberrations affecting the imprinted 6q24 locus [4], leading to overexpression of pleomorphic adenoma gene-like 1 (PLAGL1, formerly ZAC) and hyatidiform mole associated and imprinted (HYMAI) genes [5-7]. Here, PLAGL1 is linked to transient neonatal diabetes mellitus.
