Pears, an old and new fruit, have phytochemicals that show beneficial effects on various diseases and have a strong potential against hyperglycemia, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension by affecting responsible factors such as inhibiting α‐glucosidase, enhancing GLUT4 mRNA gene expression, and inhibiting ACE and adjusting serum SOD and TBARS. Here, ACE is linked to hypertensive disorder.
