Thus, the discrepancy between the previous study [39] using oligodendrocytes laser-captured from MSA brains and bulk post-mortem MSA putamen tissue in the present study may reflect the fact that ERMIN is an oligodendrocyte-specific protein, whereas bulk putamen tissue consists of a large diversity of neural cell types, potentially diluting oligodendrocyte-specific changes.
