GPER1 and hypertensive disorder: Furthermore, the GPER pathway has been shown to be involved in aldosterone-mediated hypertension and aldosterone synthesis [23,24], and analyses of GPER knockout mice have demonstrated that cardiac contractile (systolic myocardial function) and diastolic (diastolic myocardial function) functions are improved in GPER knockout mice [25], suggesting that the GPER pathway is extensively involved in the regulation of the vascular system.
