CRP and Increased total leukocyte count: There were signs of peritonitis indicating that the abscess had ruptured and referred pain to the right shoulder due to diaphragmatic irritation. Laboratory investigations showed leukocytosis, elevated liver enzymes (aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP)), and elevated inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)) (Table 1).
