CD40LG and cerebral malaria: Furthermore, high titres of anti-phosphatidylinositol and anti-PC IgM are found in children with malaria, whereas those with cerebral malaria have significantly lower levels of anti-phosphatidylinositol IgM, suggesting that serum-derived anti-PL antibodies may contribute to anti-parasitic immune responses, by means of opsonisation and phagocytosis of parasitised erythrocytes and thrombocytopenia.36
