In a randomized controlled platform trial that studied multiple therapies under a master protocol (the COvid VaccinE Response [COVER] trial) evaluating the humoral immune response to a COVID-19 vaccine booster in patients with RA and psoriatic arthritis, abatacept use was associated with a lower response to a COVID-19 booster compared to use of TNFi or IL-17 therapies, but holding abatacept for 2 weeks after vaccination was not associated with a better immune response compared to continuing treatment [91]. The gene discussed is IL17A; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
