At baseline, no statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of sex distribution, age, smoking status, alcohol consumption, history of hypertension, or coronary heart disease, family history of diabetes or hypertension, type of hypoglycemic medication used, aspirin usage, duration of diabetes, systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels, BMI, fasting blood glucose levels, HbA1c levels, blood uric acid levels, lipid profiles, serum creatinine, urinary albumin‐to‐creatinine ratio, or chronic kidney disease (CKD) staging.
