INS and Adrenal Hyperandrogenism: Two-hour insulin in the OGTT was a significant positive independent predictor of DHEAS, particularly in the non-obese population of our PCOS cohort, suggesting that hyperinsulinemia might contribute to the mechanisms causing adrenal hyperandrogenism in PCOS, and DHEAS can be a reliable marker of this modulatory influence in non-obese PCOS patients.
