As reported earlier [13], in the same patient cohort we analyzed herein, LV reverse remodeling, as indicated by an increase in left ventricular ejection fraction and reductions in both left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD) and NT-proBNP levels, was observed in the CRT nonresponder group after receiving S/V treatment for a duration of 6 to 9 months, similarly to the general cohort of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and heart failure.
