Leiomyosarcomas are typically positive for smooth muscle actin (SMA), desmin, and h-caldesmon, and negative for epithelial markers like cytokeratin (CK) or epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), helping to distinguish them from sarcomatoid urothelial carcinoma or inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors [7,16]. This evidence concerns the gene MUC1 and inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor.
