Enriched interaction analyses of both common [4] and rare genetic variants [2] within the DISC1 interactome, conducted through gene set analysis, have been associated mainly with schizophrenia (SCZ) [2,3,4], a disorder characterized by positive symptoms (psychosis) and negative symptoms (reduced emotional expression), which leads to a decline in both individual and social well-being [5]. This evidence concerns the gene DISC1 and schizophrenia.
