In non-solid tumours, Xu and colleagues recently showed that in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), the Wilms tumour 1 (WT1) protein can activate DUSP6 transcription, but only in the presence of the RUNX1::RUNX1T1 fusion (also known as t(8;21)). This evidence concerns the gene DUSP6 and acute myeloid leukemia.
