The discrepancy in the results of CD44hi/CD24lo previously reported in breast cancer was possibly due to differences in the (1) scoring method, (2) the CD24 antibody used especially clone SN3b, which is not very specific [28], (3) the intensity of CD44 or CD24 that was considered positive, and (4) whether the cohort of breast cancer patients used have received neoadjuvant chemotherapy therapy or not. This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and breast carcinoma.
