We previously demonstrated that B. abortus can induce the production of the inflammatory chemokines C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 8 (CXCL8, neutrophil chemoattractant) and C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2, monocyte chemoattractant) in both fully decidualized and non-decidualized stromal cells, which may contribute to the inflammation-driven gestational complications of brucellosis [32]. This evidence concerns the gene CCL2 and brucellosis.
