Patients diagnosed with pneumonia were, on average, significantly older (mean: 53.2 ± 2.4 months) than those with acute bronchitis (35.9 ± 2.0 months, p < 0.001) and had markedly elevated CRP levels (40.4 ± 3.1 mg/L vs. 14.2 ± 1.1 mg/L, p < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and pneumonia.
