Comparative transcriptomic analysis revealed that genes related to cardiovascular disease (e.g., Sgcb, Adcy2, Itga1, Itgb8, Ifng, and Gpc1) were upregulated in the livers of R. pruinosus compared to carnivorous and omnivorous rodents, indicating a higher cardiovascular disease risk. This evidence concerns the gene GPC1 and cardiovascular disorder.
