Regarding thyroid cancer types, we observed a trend, although not statistically significant, where follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) had a higher AF at 30.8% compared to papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) with an AF of 22.5%, regardless of the presence of TERT (p = 0.104) (Table 5). This evidence concerns the gene TERT and atrial fibrillation.
