Previous research by our team suggests that the hot and humid environment may influence the expression of GLP-1 through alterations in the gut microbiota, particularly involving the genus Alistipes. Although in this study we found an increase in the abundance of the genus Alistipes in humid environments compared to the normal group, T2DM patients in HH environment exhibited elevated GC and FBG levels without significant changes in GLP-1 and other hormones. The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
