Several new obesity medications have received Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in recent years.10 These medications are often referred to as GLP-1s (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, eg, semaglutide) or GLP-1 dual agonists (agonists of GLP-1 and glucose‐dependent insulinotropic polypeptide, eg, tirzepatide).
