The sepsis cohort exhibited significantly higher APACHE II (19 versus 8, P<0.0001) and SOFA scores (8 versus 5, P=0.011), elevated lactate levels (3.6 versus 2.0 mmol/L, P<0.0001), lower albumin level (32 versus 36g/L, P<0.001), higher APTT-R (1.2 versus 1.0, P<0.001) on admission, and increased 28-day mortality (21.0% versus 0%, P=0.039) but shorter hospital stay (10 versus 19 days, P=0.001).
