IL2 and systemic lupus erythematosus: Multiple experimental approaches are currently being explored for SLE, aiming to restore immune tolerance by leveraging Tregs’ suppressive function which includes rapamycin/retinoic treatment, corticosteroid therapy, tolerogenic dendritic cells, histone peptide tolerance, low-dose IL-2 therapy, antigen-specific nanoparticles, and autoantigen-specific TCR-Treg or CAR-Treg cell therapies (166).
