The upregulation of miR-155 in CF cells results in SH-2 containing inositol 5′ polyphosphatase 1 (SHIP1) gene translation inhibition, which leads to the activation of the phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) related signaling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and cystic fibrosis.
