Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a hematologic malignancy characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of myeloid cells due to the presence of the BCR‐ABL1 fusion gene, which results from the Philadelphia chromosome translocation (t (9; 22) (q34; q11)) (Jabbour and Kantarjian 2024; Kang et al. 2016; Sampaio et al. 2021). This evidence concerns the gene ABL1 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
