Of note, inducible knockout of Dicer1 gene in our AD model reduced the transcription of inflammatory genes (e.g., Tnf-α, Il-1β and Inos) in the cecum and did not alter the transcription of Il-17a, Ifn-γ, Il-4 and Il-10 genes in CD4-positive spleen cells, indicating that deletion of Dicer1 in the intestine is unlikely to impair intestinal barrier function in AD mice.
