PXN and Anxiety: Adolescent (P35-P40) mice either deficient in paxillinS119 phosphorylation (TRAP2; paxillinS119A/fl) or expressing lower paxillin levels (TRAP2; paxillinfl/+) exhibited normal locomotor and social behaviors (Fig. 7A–D); however, in open-field tests, adolescent TRAP2; paxillinS119A/fl mice exhibited anxiety-like behavior, spending more time in the center area compared to control littermates (Fig. 7B).
