MTOR and cardiomyopathy: Consistent with the notion that dysregulated proteostasis is a key pathological event, our recent study of a bag3e2/e2 cardiomyopathy model in zebrafish indicated that inhibition of the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) via an mtor haploinsufficiency mutant (mtorxu015/+) exerted cardioprotective effects by restoring proteostasis (Ding et al. 2019).
