Chromosome microarray analysis can diagnose most patients with PMS and 22q13 CNV (>30 Kb) caused by simple chromosome deletion or rearrangement.[17] Patients with PMS due to small microdeletions or duplications of SHANK3 can be identified through deoxyribonucleic acid sequencing to prevent missed or misdiagnosis. Here, SHANK3 is linked to premenstrual tension.
