Lots of studies support a role for glycolysis in HCC cell proliferation, in which overexpression or knockdown of key enzymes involved in glycolysis, including hexokinase 2 (HK2), 6‐phosphofructo‐2‐kinase/fructose‐2,6‐biphosphatase 3 (PFKFB3), or lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), could induce or reduce the growth of HCC cells [23, 24]. The gene discussed is LDHA; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
