While METTL3 and METTL14 have been often reported to be upregulated in breast cancer in previous studies [11, 34–39], METTL14 was found to be downregulated in the SCAN-B cohort, a trend that is also prevalently observed in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) cohort when METTL14 is altered [12].
