In dopaminergic neurons derived from Parkinson’s disease patients with Parkin RBR E3 ubiquitin protein ligase (PRKN) loss-of-function mutations, the benzosulphonamide compound 39 effectively restored mitophagy to near-normal levels by inhibiting USP30 (Rusilowicz-Jones et al., 2021). Here, PRKN is linked to Parkinson disease.
