Multiple studies have identified the urinary tract as the most frequent isolation source of KP, with prevalence ranging from 39.0–66.0% (Gorrie et al., 2022; Matsuda et al., 2023; Rodríguez-Medina et al., 2024), and have recognized KP as the second most common cause of UTI after Escherichia coli (Flores-Mireles et al., 2015). This evidence concerns the gene NPPA and bacterial urinary tract infection.
